AGE PENSION

The Age Pension is a fortnightly payment (as of 1 January 2023) paid by the government for those over 67 who meet the required income and assets tests.

Retirees who qualify for the Age Pension automatically receive the Pensioner Concession Card (PCC).

COMMONWEALTH SENIORS HEALTH CARD

The Commonwealth Seniors Health Card (CSHC) may be available to self-funded retirees of Age Pension age who don’t meet the eligibility requirements for the Age Pension.

Retired clients who meet the income test criteria for the CSHC can benefit from savings for medication, health care and other services.

LOW INCOME HEALTH CARE CARD

Retirees who aren’t old enough for the Age Pension may be able to receive the Low Income Health Care Card (LIHCC), which gives them similar benefits as the Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) and the Commonwealth Seniors Health Care Card (CSHC). To qualify, retirees must meet the income test.
